Humboldt Park~Full Service...Friday

Well, we just finished up our last day of VBS.  It was amazing.  We had so many kids from the neighborhoods come to our programs.  There were a lot of kids that gave their lives to Jesus Christ!  It was so awesome to see your children run up to me to tell me that they led someone to salvation.  There is not much much in the world that is better than that.  I am so encouraged by how the kids served God this week.  I am looking forward to your kid telling  you all about it all in the next couple days.  I will be very sad to see of these students move to high school this summer :(.  But, I am just as excited to see how they will grow in their faith as they reach high school.  Tonight we had some precious time worshiping God  with an acoustic guitar, mandolin, and a conga drum.  Your kids worship with such intensity.
Tomorrow is a very BIG day!  We are helping New Hope with a carnival called..."Hope 4 Da Hood".  There will be grilled hot dogs, a climbing wall, bouncies, rapping, and a gospel message or two.  They also have a bunch of bikes to raffle off to the kids in the hood.  All of this will be free for the community.  They are expecting 2-3000 people to come to the event.  Your kids will be setting up, running the games, serving food, praying for people at the prayer booth and so much more.  Then, they will tear it all down and come home.  The kids are so close right now, and that is exactly where they need to be to serve God tomorrow.  I am so proud to be the youth pastor for this ministry.  Please enjoy some of these pictures...

Serving with you,
Scott Murray
