Chicago 7/1

Yesterday was an epic day for everybody on the Chicago site!! After another early morning wake up call, and a scrumptious breakfast we hauled off in the vans to Daley Plaza. It was in this bustling city center that we prayed with over 375 individuals who were hungry for God and had dramatic requests. This was an experience that stretched every one of us out of our comfort zones. We prayed for sickness to heal, relationships to be repaired, prosperity for desperate people, and for the lost to be found. We pray that these individuals saw the love of Christ through our actions towards them. After a break to McDonald's, we boarded a bus and looped around the Rogers Park and Little India region. Our goal was to simply have a conversation with the person sitting next to us. It was a humbling experience for every team member. Perhaps the most powerful moment of the trip so far was our large group session focus on the subject of confession. Every person shared some of their deepest secrets and we prayed and worshiped as we celebrated our new creation. As the girls painted their toe nails and shared testimonies we heard a guitar in the kitchen of our apartment. We ran into the kitchen to see what was going on and were pleasantly surprised to find the boys serenading us. The interesting version of Justin Bieber's "Baby" had us all laughing and we laughed even more as Kurt read us Song of Songs and we were each handed a rose, we will never forget it! :) During the last day and a half of this trip please pray that we would remain dependent on Christ and continue to be changed by the humbling experience here in Chicago.
