MINNEAPOLIS: Little Earth

Our first night in we went across the street to play in Elliot Park only to find out we would be playing with kids from the community instead. While we were there we met a woman named Emma and some of her 9 kids that she has. She was so thrilled to have the students playing with her kids and tiring them out. Her daughter, Destiny, exclaimed, "Mama look there's more coming!" as more students came around to the park. It was an awesome evening and the students keep asking to go back to the park to see the kids.

Today we had the opportunity to meet with Pastor Dan from Akina (pronounced A-kin-a) which is a church that reaches out to the Native Americans in the community. From there we traveled to Little Earth which is low-income housing specifically for Native Americans. The students were able to do a variety of things while there from weeding, to helping cook and putting on a successful VBS. Be proud of your students parents, they were able to get double the amount of kids from what the VBS had last week.

Keep praying for:
-Strength and unity among the team
-Safety as we are out and about within the community
-That we would be able to be a light to the people of Little Earth and get them plugged in at Akina Community Church

Enjoy the pictures! There will be more to come on future posts.

Thank you for being our prayer warriors!

In Him,
Kerri
