MINNEAPOLIS: another great day!

We started our day off serving the Little Earth Village by weeding--lots and lots of weeding! It was a blast to serve the community while building relationships with team members.

Pulling weeds = good ol' bonding time.

We then rounded up the little troops for VBS. Our rounding up was a success! Twenty-five little ones heard the story of Noah building the Ark. We focused on Noah's obedience and how the Lord blessed him. It is truly amazing to see how the kids latch on to us students. They desire to have our attention and love. Pray that tomorrow we can continue to serve these children and show them Christ's love through our actions.

Quickly after wrapping up VBS, we headed to the Marie Sandvik Center, where we prepared food for poverty stricken people, young and old. It was such a blessing to serve the staff there and allow them to have a break from their usual hectic nights. After preparing the food, some of us listened in on their bible study/church service/worship time. It was SO encouraging to hear the testimonies of some of the individuals. Their faith in Christ, despite incredibly hard situations, is so strong and profound. We were also able to eat and converse with those who came for dinner at the center. Many shared stories of how the Lord saved them, others heard stories of why they have not given their life over to the Lord. Pray that as we return on Friday, we can encourage them and clearly share the gospel with these people who have not accepted Jesus as their personal Savior.

Our team is having so much fun serving the Lord together. We are facing situations in which our boldness with the gospel is tested and we are able to come alongside each other and encourage our teammates. God is truly working through every one of us in unique ways--continue to pray for us as we serve the community and proclaim the gospel!

In Christ,
Sophie
